This painting is my first in layering oil on top of an acrylic underpainting. This adds a rich layer of sheen to the underpainting. These beautiful roses are from my mother's garden.
 
They are rosey and deep magenta colored with hints of yellow. The vase is from local ceramic artisians. I love the contrast of the olive green and soft rose colors.
